Laughter is Golden

The silent laugher has finally turned up the volume! we went months watching Brylee just open her mouth wide in an attempt to giggle, but now she has mastered the art of laughing. A child's laughter is one of the greatest sounds to me and this video melts my heart each time I watch my daughter be so easily entertained. Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and were trying to entertain the kiddo during some of the March Madness games. Apparently bear hugs from a hand puppet are pretty funny.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

No pinches for this cute babe! Brylee really enojoyed playing with the shiney clovers decorating the diningroom table. She had a wonderful day playing with Daddy since he was home for the start of March Madness. Of course, she thought it was pretty funny to pinch (or in her case, hit) Daddy for not wearing green. Hopefully she realizes this abuse is only allowed once a year.

And She's Off!

This morning Brylee finally put together all the pieces and has mastered the art of moving around the room. Of course it helps if she has some motivation such as banana puffs and a remote control, but we are very proud of our little cruiser. Don't worry, we picked up a baby gate today so we can stop her in her tracks before she discovers our stairs. Of course the gate isn't stopping her from going after everything else in the house. Goodbye house decorations...see you in a few years!

My Mommy Made Me Wear It

Brylee is finally starting to catch on to the many headbands I make her wear. Her Mia has been a colporate by making her lots of big and fabulous bows to match all her outfits. This picture says it all, "What on earth is on my head and WHY did you put it there?" Now that she is exploring the world with her hands and mouth she gladly explored the floral explosion on her head by continuously removing her bow from her head and trying to eat the evidence. I might just have to make her start sleeping in them so they become more of a permanent fixture and she leaves them alone. Yes, this may sound mean, but I'm her mother and supposed to torment my child a little...aren't I?

Tales from the Crib

This morning I walked in to find Brylee SITTING UP in her crib rather than lying in one of the many other flat on her back/tummy positions she normally is in. Apparently her mini daily workouts have been helping her build enough strength to finally pull herself up to sit. A part of me was excited for this new milestone, but the other part of me realized how much closer she is getting to becoming mobile. Time to dust off those running shoes because I have a feeling I am going to need them pretty soon.

What time is it...who cares, time to PLAY!

As I sit here and type this at 11:45pm, Brylee seems to think it is a new day and time to greet it with a smile and lots of giggles. Sorry child, but this tired mama cannot share in your enthusiasm as she didn't just wake up from a nap (or what should have been the start to night of slumber). How do you scorn a baby for keeping you from your beauty sleep when the smile on her face is enough to brighten the darkest of nights? The answer is, you can't. You just suck it up and give her lots of hugs and kisses and hope she gets sleepy again soon since you don't have the luxury of taking naps all afternoon tomorrow. I am just glad to have these fun moments with her before she grows up even if it costs me a good night's rest. Hopefully the rest of you are getting some shut-eye so I can enjoy it vicariously through all of you! Alright, I am off to try and put baby to bed...goodnight ritual, Take II.
